The Social Engagement

Where Engaged Couples Can Connect With Wedding Creatives In A Relaxed and Social Way

Well boy oh boy did we have a blast at our first wedding event, The Social Engagement. We were so blessed to have the most amazing vendors take part and exhibit their talents to engaged couples, while having a good old fashioned chinwag and connecting in a more relaxed and fun way.

The Burleigh Brewing Co was set up during The Afternoon Delights, to resemble an art gallery. Gorgeous cakes and tasty treats sat upon white stands like sculptures to highlight the artistic creations from the ladies at Pretty Yummy Cookie Co and There Must Be Cake.

Couples could roam about the space taking in the wonderful photography and videography from all of the talented folk from Cloud Catcher Studios, Fable House Films , Salt & Light Media and The Follans. All very different styles yet equally stunning work, not to mention all very, very cool people to have a chat over a beer with.

We came up with four differently styled tables, with each theme being completed with fablous florals from Pollen Weddings, tableware from Supper Club Co, and stationary designed by I Am Poppy Designs. High-end and modern furniture and table top pieces were supplied by AV Ideas as well as the amazing suspended greenery and hanging festoon lights that highlighted our stage area.

All of the planning in the world never prepares you for how amazing a space can come to life when a group of very gifted and innovative peeps let their creativity flow. We had neon lighting from Neon Republic bringing an edgy elegance to the room, striking balloon installations towered over us majestically in a few different areas throughout the brewery from Love & Wishes Styled Events. We had beautiful handmade kokedama plants which added another level of greenery to our dining tables – we will definitely be heading to one of Drift, Lovely Things’ workshops to learn how to make these little beauties!

Mark Divola sang sweet tunes during the afternoon, while couples and vendors got to know each other a little better and even get a few cheeky snaps taken in the open air photo booths from Pic Perfect Booths. And what better way to enjoy a Burleigh Brewing Co craft beer than munching on a hot dog from The Weiner Haus food truck!

Gorgeous gowns all designed and Australian made by a new locally owned brand Gabrielle Rose for Mahiya, were modelled by four ladies whose natural beauty was enhanced by the very talented and outgoing Milly from Tonic Artistry, who gracefully waved her magic over both hair and makeup. The cool teal coloured Kombi from The Kombi Collective GC was the perfect backdrop for a photo-op for these lovely ladies.

As day turned into evening, we were treated to finger licking good food from Fingers and Bones Catering, and happy vibes filled the room courtesy from Jake and Andy, while everyone sat side by side and connected on a social and laid back level.

With so many elements to consider when planning a wedding, it was great to have awesome snippets of advice from some of the most experienced and well sought after wedding professionals. Jeannie Sheppard from Two Little Rows, Andrew Follan- one half of The Follans, and Josh Whithers opened a few eyes and guided loved up lovers towards some of the most important aspects of planning a wedding.

Once again the ladies from Pretty Yummy Cookie Co and There Must Be Cake shared their tasty treats for dessert while The Vintage Belles and Beaus sang some snazzy jazzy songs finishing the evening of on a high.

We couldn’t be more happier with all of our talented vendors’ efforts which helped bring The Social Engagement to life.

Special thanks to the Burleigh Brewing Co and their wonderful staff for allowing us to wow engaged couples within their working brewery, Sophie from Salt & Light Media who took time out from mingling with couples to capture some footage of our fun filled event ( just wait until you see the clip at the end) and also the gorgeous MNDY Photography who took all of these snappy snaps throughout the duration of the whole event.

One last shout out to the gorgeous marriage celebrant Tarnya Bennette, who kept the evening flowing and full of life while we had all hands on deck behind the scenes. Just one of many beautiful and supportive souls within this industry. <3
